Things To Do At OwnLegacy.com

without comments

On this site you will discover that we are committed to changing the way people look at the end-of-life experience. We shall endeavor to bridge the communication gap between children and their elders and hopefully provide the avenue to discuss important topics relating to legacy.

We now give you the tools to create a lasting and meaningful account of your lives, hand it down to your loved ones, and save the memories for generations to see.

With a properly managed entry into the online journals, we hope that families will start talking and understanding each other through our free service.

1. CREATE AN ONLINE JOURNAL WHERE YOU CAN:

- Bequeath your financial assets or real estate
- Identify your loved ones whom you want to leave your personal possessions to
- Share or send messages about your life lessons and values
- Discuss your wishes and last instructions
- Share your life stories through an autobiographical entry, and
- Leave to an audience your final words of goodbye

2. CREATE AND PRINT OUT AN ADVANCED MEDICAL DIRECTIVE

In the event of arising unforeseen medical conditions, this advanced medical directive can be a valid document wherein your doctor and family may base their decisions regarding treatment. This resolves the conflict among members of the family so that each one knows precisely what you want them to do for you in such cases.

3. CREATE A WEBLOG OF YOUR LIFE AT PRESENT AND SHARE YOUR DAILY TRIALS AND TRIUMPS

You will inspire others who may be in the same situation as you are. Using this feature will allow others to post comments on your specific blogs. Only you, however, have the option of allowing these comments to be posted.

4. STAY INFORMED ON RELATED TOPICS ON LEGACY

We feature a regular Columns section where important topics such as retirement, healthcare, estate planning, spiritual advice, and finance are discussed by experts on their field. You will find these relevant, informative and inspiring.

5. BROWSE THROUGH PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

We have partnered with an exclusive list of businesses establishments, public institutions, and non-governmental organizations to bring you a rich resource of products and services relating to your legacy needs. Just type in what you are searching for in our Professional’s Page and you will see a host of entities and their contact information.

6. CONNECT WITH SOMEONE, FIND A SOULMATE, OR JUST BE PLAIN CURIOUS

See who is there in the Personals’ page. This listing allows you to meet a new friend and browse through public entries of their lives’ values and lessons. Check out their photos and read their biographies. It is also a chance for you to open yourself up to the world. Send them a message. Answer their posts. In all these remember to have fun, be respectful and stay safe.

7. CREATE GROUPS AND REPLY TO ARTICLES IN OUR FORUMS’ PAGE

By itself a very comprehensive section of the site, the Forums’ page allows users to read posts and reply to them. Here they can also manage their calendar, join groups based on their interests, set notices or reminders or send and answer instant messages from our existing members. You can also create a group for your own family or clan so that you can discuss family matters privately.

Creating A “Dearest List”

without comments

Hi again and thanks for reading through OwnLegacy.com Community Blogs!

For today we shall give you a run down on how to create a “Dearest List” at OwnLegacy.com. A “Dearest List” is a select address book of relatives, friends or family members whom you would like to leave a message to, through email, postal mail or through a telephone call. Cool huh! This is a free automated service that we put out which enables you to connect to your select “Dearest List” on the date that you specified. It also comes password-protected so nobody but your chosen one will receive your notifications. You also have the option to send the message in the future, whether or not you may be able to do so physically.

To get started you have to log in. On the upper left-hand is your Navigation pane where the Elements of Legacy are listed. Select “My Dearest”.

The page should show an Address Book listing where created entries are displayed. Go to the lower part of the page where it says “Add New Dearest”, and fill out the required information. On the “Read Only Password” box, type in a password that you want that specific “Dearest” to use. Never use the same password for different people. Click “Add New” and then you’re done.

Your created entry should display on the “Address Book Listing” and you would consequently be able to use that “Dearest” name to create legacy notifications. An automatic email shall be sent to the person included in the Listing notifying them that they have just received a legacy notice which they can view when the notification becomes current, that is when the date for the notice arrives. The password is also included in the email so they can access the notice securely.

Our goal in creating these notification services is so you can leave an effective and meaningful legacy to your family and loved ones. It is important that they know what you want for them to do in case of unforeseen emergencies. Informing them that you have them in your “Dearest List” makes them aware of what your directives might be.

For any questions, just email us or post a comment. Then we could discuss further the tools that we provide.

Thanks for reading.

Get Your Favorite Entries on Yahoo Buzz

without comments

Wow, after last night, I could not get over the excitement of what’s to come in America. The media is on fire with political content that sure deserves to be in the annals of OwnLegacy.com! The pages of history has turned.

Nonetheless, here’s something I need to do here-and-now as I shift from dreamy mode to reality.

We have just integrated an exciting new feature from Yahoo called the “Buzz” icon. This icon leads you to Yahoo Buzz, a portal where you can vote great content and allow other readers to discover that particular blog. All you need to do is click on the “Buzz” icon on the page of the article or blog that you wish to vote on. Fill in the information asked and then you will see that particular info appearing on the Buzz homepage. As more and more people vote, you will have a chance for that particular entry to appear as a featured page in Yahoo potentially driving millions to your site. It’s a grand idea and something that you bloggers should consider having. It’s way better than asking favors for mutual backlinks! With great content, you will have greater opportunities for exposure. And that’s a good thing. Something that we at OwnLegacy.com believes in. Substance first, and the clicks will follow.

Now I have to go back to my political watch.

Have a great day!

Erwin
